It's very hard to write a blog about technology in the classroom when i'm not going to be a teacher.
It's also difficult to try and keep this entertaining if that is the case.
I mean there is technology in my Major.
It just involves different things then computers, or cell phones or whether or not we can use them to help educate.
I do believe that computers help educate younger children and the Maine laptop program is fairly important. There are many things that explain both the pros and cons of this.. many of which we talked about in class this past monday.
So i really won't get into it.
I guess because the only thing I have to talk about it technology in my major i think I will plan to do that. it basically starts out with an injury. Being a Division I athlete it is very important that if an injury occurs it gets fixed as soon as possible. The healing time period for an injury is usually fairly long... but we have technology that helps cut the healing time in half, or at least by a little bit. And this to athletes is the most important thing.
When i was in grade 11, I was unfortunate enough to separate my shoulder. I was told by the doctor at the Emergency room that I would be out for about 8 Weeks or about 2 months. I was devastated, I had alot going through my mind at those words, and none of them very good. Fortunately I played for a team that had a Physiotherapist. This physiotherapist used TENS, Muscle Stim, and also used laser treatment on my injury. He told me he could get me back in 3 weeks with the types of treatment he was doing. And truth be told, he stuck to his word and i was back playing hockey within 3 weeks.
Injury prevention is extremely important, however injury is in some cases unavoidable. Therefore what must happen is therapy. It is very important to go to physiotherapy in order to keep the injury manageable.
As you can see technology isn't just useful in classrooms, but there are many other uses for technology in health benefiting ways

This is exactly what I want you to write about, Kali. Find out what the technology is in the field you are interested in...do some reading...and respond.
ReplyDeleteSo, what are you thinking about now if not teaching?
